Home / Driver Updater / Pen tablet
The tablet is plugged in, the light is on, and nothing happens. Or the pen moves the cursor but Photoshop, Krita or Clip Studio get no pressure, the maker's panel says “device not found”, or the tablet disconnects over USB every few minutes. The free scan shows what the tablet is connected as right now and which drivers are missing or outdated.
Your PC is currently running: Windows
The light is on, but the maker's panel says no device is connected, and Device Manager shows an unknown USB device or a generic HID entry. The USB side or the tablet driver did not install.
Lines come out the same thickness in every app. The tablet is running as a plain mouse on the generic HID driver, or Windows Ink and the maker's driver are fighting.
The tablet drops and comes back, the pen stops mid-stroke. A typical sign of an outdated driver on the connection, especially through a hub or a USB-C adapter.
It worked for months, a Windows update came through, and now the pen is dead or the pressure is gone until you reinstall everything.
A free scan can identify the installed hardware and show available driver information.
These are the standard Windows checks - they take a few minutes and sometimes do the trick:
The weak spot of the manual route: at the "Update driver" step Windows searches only its own catalog, which is often missing or outdated for the exact model - it can report that the best driver is already installed even when a newer one exists. The free scan checks your devices against a database of 1,000,000+ drivers, so one pass shows whether better versions are available.
The application identifies the hardware installed on your PC and checks the current driver information.
See detected devices, installed driver versions and available updates. Nothing changes during the scan.
Review the results and decide which available updates you want to apply.
A license is required only if you choose to apply the available updates.

Usually yes, but on the tablet driver side: it is not running, it is the wrong one for this model, or an older tablet driver is still installed and gets in the way. Also check Windows Ink in the maker's panel and the pressure setting inside the drawing app. The scan tells you whether Windows sees the tablet as a tablet or only as a generic mouse.
Then the tablet and the cable are fine, and the difference is on your PC: a USB controller or chipset driver, a USB port that powers down, or a leftover driver from another tablet. That is exactly the part the scan looks at, so start there.
No. Nothing changes during the scan. Driver updates are applied only after you review the results and choose what to update.
Yes. Each detected item can be reviewed, applied or skipped individually. Backup and restore options are available before updates are applied, so a previous driver version can be restored if necessary.
The button downloads Outbyte Driver Updater, a Windows desktop application. The website itself does not scan your computer in the browser - the check runs in the application after you install and start it.
The scan and results are free. A license is required only if you choose to download and apply the available updates. Current pricing and license terms are shown before purchase.
Supports Windows 11 and 10 · Uninstall anytime via Settings → Apps · If no updates are found, the scan still shows the current driver state of your devices.
